Since this about TEAMMENKVELD...

I decided to maybe post some ramblings about us.  Because I am addicted to Amanda's blog...feel like I know her but only see her once a year, if we are lucky.  So here goes..

Henry and I made playdough today and cookies and piano practice and tball in the park, it is amazing what you can do between 6 and 2 to entertain your child.  I am really trying to BE with him in the moments we have, not be so distracted, it is hard but when i let myself go there it is so much FUN!  He talked to Auntie Anna today on the phone and now he wants to go see his baby> told him that would be a really long drive but we can go soon, I hope!~

Joel has class tonight for EMT.  It is a lab so the 4 hours may not be so bad.  He was 1 pt away from an A on his first test, yay Joel!  He also has a show on the 20th at Moe's bbq. His band is recording soon so they are practicing 2x a week plus class 2x a week and Budget and Bender's 1-2 nights a week.  My BUSY man is holding up amazingly!

I am working odd jobs every week, like Tuesday I worked on voice recognition software for the new xbox.  Last week I did some breakfast market research.  Still working at the church, and enjoying community there with a small group on Thursday mornings.  School for me is going very well since I changed my major to social work! I really found my people, all class everyday we discuss people and ways to help, hello...HEAV EN!  Anyway, one of my jobs is beta testing and this was on the website http://www.aswewill.com/ if you are a parent check it out....interesting stuff.

Kahlil Gibran on children.

Master trainer, Jim Robinson, recites the verse from The Prophet:

On Children

Kahlil Gibran

Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you,

And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,

which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them,

but seek not to make them like you.

For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children

as living arrows are sent forth.

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,

and He bends you with His might

that His arrows may go swift and far.

Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;

For even as He loves the arrow that flies,

so He loves also the bow that is stable.
